CREATE WITH PASSION,

INSPIRE WITH ART,

SHOW LOVE THROUGH DANCE.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Making Moves - HipHop Project will consist of producing a series of choreographed dance videos each featuring young HipHop dancers showcasing different styles of HipHop dance, such as popping, locking, krump and slow jam. Each video will tell a unique story, with the first one featuring a schoolgirl who overcomes her fears to enter a dance studio through the power of HipHop music and dance.

The project is an exciting new initiative aimed at providing young HipHop dancers with a platform to showcase their skills and express their creativity, while also gaining valuable experience in the dance industry. This project is designed to address the lack of opportunities for young performers to gain exposure within the wider dance community, particularly for those facing additional barriers such as a lack of resources and representation.

Original choreography will be provided by Lila Chen as the artist and choreographer. The videos will be produced and edited by the professional production crew, and will be promoted through social media and other marketing channels to reach a wider audience.

In addition to the above, the Making Moves project will also feature original music from local musicians, adding a unique and vibrant element to the videos. The project will provide a valuable opportunity for young dancers to work with local artists and showcase their talents together, creating a collaborative and supportive community within the arts.

THE POWER OF MAKING MOVES

Empowering Young Dancers and Fostering Creativity in Aotearoa

The Making Moves project is an exciting opportunity for young HipHop dancers to showcase their skills and express their creativity, while also gaining valuable experience in the dance industry. We believe that this project will promote inclusivity and diversity within the local dance community and help to inspire the next generation of performers to pursue their passion for the arts.

As the creator of the project, I, Lila Chen, am thrilled to have a platform to share my creativity through the art of dance, tell my story, and inspire young people. Working with a talented team of dancers, videographers, and a supportive dance studio, we are excited to see the impact that this project will have on the local dance community.

Your support will help us to create something truly special and empower young dancers to make their own moves in the world of HipHop dance.
